To Write Love On Her arms

To write love on her arms is doing a story teller program for high school students to get involved into the community and to expand their knowledge on suicide, depression, and drug addiction amongst teens. I think that every school should try and do this, this program means a lot to me personally.

For those who do not know what To Write Love On Her Arms is (TWLOHA) Is a non profit movement dedicated to giving and helping out teens and young adults who suffer from drug addiction and depression.

TWLOHA means a lot to me personally because back in 2010 I was admitted into Alexian Brothers mental health institution in Schaumburg Illinois for self harm and an eating disorder.
I was at Alexian Brothers for three months two weeks and 6 days before they let me out and i became a whole new person, with a whole lot of hospital bills.
TWLOHA donated $2,500 to me to help pay for my bills. I am so thankful towards them.

Spread the word of peace, and hope, let someone know that it will get better.

Helium baloons?

Releasing Helium Balloons
Materials needed:

1) Large balloons
2) Helium, available in small canisters from many welding supply houses or large novelty companies. Many schools also keep helium on hand, to fill balloons.
4) Sealable plastic bags
5) Fishing line or polyester twine (not cotton twine)

Steps:

1) Fill five balloons with helium to about the size of a basketball.
2) Tie the balloon nozzles shut with fishing line, and tie the nozzles of the balloons together to form a cluster.
3) Write on a piece of paper: "If found, please contact (insert your school's name and address here) to (teacher's name here) with your location, and the date you found it. Thank you for helping us with our science project."
4) Place the note in a sealable bag and tie the bag to the balloons.
5) Release the balloons into the sky. Record the date. Make more than one cluster and release several on the same day.

Use this project to demonstrate how air currents travel in the upper atmosphere. Mention that a class in England released balloons in 2006 and that the balloons touched down in Poland. Explain how air currents can carry objects, e.g., volcanic ash, around the globe.

Now yes, this project is pretty cool but, i just want to let everyone know about the negative effects this project can do on the environment. Helium is no bueno for the environment!!!!

That was my little note for all you people out there worried about the Ozone. :)

Jonathan Friesen

He is the author of three books, and an amazing speaker. He came to my school today and talked to us about bullying from the bullied's prospective. I grew up being bullied until I hit about sophmore year of highschool.
He was very motivational, and kind hearted, he touched my soul and pulled on my heart strings like a puppet master. I cried, and laughed, then cried some more. I just bout his book "Jerk" and I can't wait to start reading. I have a feeling I'm going to be in love with it. I'll keep you guys posted <3 here is a link to one of his speaches, please listen, it'll change your perspective on a lot of things.

The Sky is Everywhere

Seventeen-year-old Lennie Walker, bookworm and band geek, plays second clarinet and spends her time tucked safely and happily in the shadow of her fiery older sister, Bailey. But when Bailey dies abruptly, Lennie is catapulted to center stage of her own life—and, despite her nonexistent history with boys, suddenly finds herself struggling to balance two. Toby was Bailey’s boyfriend; his grief mirrors Lennie’s own. Joe is the new boy in town, a transplant from Paris whose nearly magical grin is matched only by his musical talent. For Lennie, they’re the sun and the moon; one boy takes her out of her sorrow, the other comforts her in it. But just like their celestial counterparts, they can’t collide without the whole wide world exploding.
